Artizan Sarai was launched in the U.S. in April of 2007 as an independent label, retailer, and wholesaler. The name Artizan means “Art of Women” in Dari and Sarai means “caravan trading post". Artizan Sarai is a portal to the ancient Silk Road and brings contemporary hand-crafted home décor, art, jewelry and accessories from the East to your doorstep. Our mission is to create opportunities for artisans in economically disadvantaged areas of the world, primarily Afghanistan, and to bridge cultures through artistic expression. The label strives to generate a strong U.S. consumer response that will drive positive change for artisans.

By working with producers who support gender equity, fair labor, better working conditions, no illegal child labor, and practices that do not harm the environment, Artizan Sarai also supports ethical production practices.
